Female patient, 30 years old, presented with symptoms and signs of acute appendicitis. On surgery there is ceacal mass with perforation. Resection was done and sent for frozen section.
I agree with you...It's caseating tuberculous colitis....really interesting... could give a clinical impression of carcinoma.. Did you diagnose it in Frozen section??was it difficult?? Can you reply me? Maha Akl
Thanks Dr. Maha. Yes, the diagnosis was done on frozen section, and it was not difficult due to the presence of caseating lympho-epithelial granulomas, and also due to the presence of caseating regional lymph nodes (last photo). Resection of the mass was done for the presence of perforation.
