Two interesting appendicectomies!

First: Lady 27 years old, operated upon for huge Rt. pelvi-abdominal cyst +  they did appedicectomy.
Second: Male patient, 35 years old operated upon for appendicitis> during the operation the surgeon found multiple tiny nodules on the surface> ask for frozen section.

  1. Case(1): Benign serous paraovarian cyst + appendiceal carcinoid (mixed insular and tubular patterns) (adenocarcinoid).

    Case (2): Old fibrotic bilharzial granulomas, only on the surface (likely hematobium, not intestinal).

  2. The first case looks like carcinoid or neuroendocrine tumor of appendix in addition to a benign serous ovarian cyst.
    In the second case there's something that looks like Bilharzia ovum but there's no refractile shell...It may be chronic Bilharzial appendicitis associated with thick walled blood vessels.
